Teenagers go through a lot and this moment in someone͛s life if where they will learn their emotional coping skills and as a result develop how they emotionally react, avoid and suppress things. From experience 90% of people as an adult will react emotionally some something during this time period. The sooner someone understands their triggers and blocks in their life the more powerful they will be as an adult, In addition, the more people experience emotionally the more drive, power and passion they will have once they learn how to harvest it; empowerment.
Around the age of 8, our first brain upgrade happens, to our emotional brain. Then between 13-17 a major emotional brain upgrade where all the neurological pathways are grown and r-mapped for the best survival in life. This is where people learn their emotional coping skills and stuck with most people for life. You cannot just attend therapy, or talk about it to change these patterned behaviours. This is exactly why Mark developed the 7 steps in his book 'Unlocking The POWER Within, for true authentic change.
As adults many times we talk about change, might know exactly what triggers us in life but do not know the benefits of the change. An example can be weight loss, without having lost the weight, it is hard to know the energy, size, activities, alertness, acceptance etc benefits until it happens. It can also take years to accept the change if you have had the emotional issues for some time. Drinking, smoking, intercourse, eating, gaming, gambling etc can all be an emotional reaction. If you can say no and only do these once a week randomly, then less chance of an emotional addiction. Partake more than a few times a week for a month or so then there is something hidden underneath. Please note there is not always a problem with an emotional addiction, you just need to know why you do it and how it affects you͛ it is then a choice, whether that be beneficial or not.
